LONGS, SC (WMBF) – The Horry County Police Department  responded to a call of shots fired at the G Spot Bar Grill in Longs around 4:20 a.m. Monday.

The police report from the HCPD said security guards at the G Spot Bar broke up a fight at the bar, and had one person detained when a male in a white Mercury vehicle fired several shots, distracting them. While they were distracted, the detained male was able to escape.

The vehicle drove off, and a search of the area that the car was believed to have been parked in did not turn up any shell casings or signs of damage.

As officers were leaving the scene, they received a call that a stabbing victim had arrived at the hospital in Little River. They then learned that two victims left the G Spot Bar. One victim said he was standing outside the dance floor when someone hit him, and they began fighting. The suspect then jumped into the fight and cut the victim in his upper right butt cheek. The victim was escorted from the bar by security, while alerting them the suspect had the knife.

A second victim said there was a big fight and she was struck from behind three-to-five times. She said she turned around and saw the suspect standing behind her with a chair.

The police report from the HCPD says that due to the proximity of the calls, it is believed by officers that the two calls are related. One victim positively identified the suspect, which was verified through a photograph.

No warrants have been issued yet.

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Philadelphia Police are investigating a deadly overnight double shooting after a birthday party in the city’s Kensington section.

The incident happened around midnight near the Liquid Room bar in the 200 block of Master Street.

Police say two men and a woman climbed into a Dodge Magnum after leaving a birthday party at the bar and were driving away when some opened fire on the car.

“There were 12 shell casings out there on the street,” says Philadelphia police Captain Frank Llewellyn. “The operator of the vehicle, the Dodge Magnum, continued westbound across American Street and ended up hitting a flower pot and then crashed into a building.”

Authorities say the 28-year-old driver was shot twice in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second victim, a 43-year-old man, was a passenger in the front seat of the car. Police say he was was found up the street with multiple gunshot wounds to the arms, thigh and chest. He was rushed to Hahnemann Hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

The woman in the backseat of the car was not injured.

“The female in the backseat luckily was not hit at all,” Llewellyn says. “She was out here celebrating her birthday.”

Police have no suspects, but are looking at surveillance video from the Liquid Bar that they hope will yield some clues.

A 20-year-old man rushing to the hospital after his sister shot herself was himself killed when he was involved in a car crash early Sunday, Detroit Police said.

Police first responded to 14000 Kercheval where 21-year-old Brenda Tucker of Eastpointe died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest in the bar where she works, according to family members and police. About 20 minutes later, police were called to a crash at East Warren and Woodhall, which involved the woman’s younger brother, Ricky Tucker of Eastpointe.

“He was racing to the hospital to check on his sister,” Detroit police spokeswoman Kelly Miner told the Free Press.

The brother was pronounced dead on arrival at a hospital. It appears that he crossed the center line and his car collided with an SUV, police said. The other driver involved in the crash was taken to a hospital and suffered minor injuries, police said.

4 Wounded, 2 Critically Inside Foster’s Bar In Buffalo, NY

Three people were shot, a fourth was struck by shrapnel, and at least two of the victims were critically injured in an apparent drive-by shooting early Saturday morning inside a Jefferson Avenue bar and lounge, Buffalo police reported.

“It was like 3:45, and we heard like a machine gun – at least 10 shots,” one neighbor said at mid-morning Saturday. “It woke us up. We said, ‘We’re not going out there. We don’t know which way they’re shooting.’”

The shooting occurred at New Foster’s Lounge, 694 Jefferson Ave., at the corner of Jefferson and Davis Street, about halfway between Genesee and Sycamore streets.

“Apparently, from what I’m getting, people drove by and started shooting,” a relative of one of the victims said outside the bar. Both the relative and neighbor asked not to be identified.

Police identified the three women victims as Diamond Barker, 31, who was shot in the chest; Kiara Spearman, 22, shot in the right lower abdomen; and Natasha Camp, 33, shot in the leg.

Barker and Spearman apparently were taken to Erie County Medical Center, where their conditions were not available late this morning. Camp apparently was taken to Buffalo General Hospital.

The fourth person, Dwyanell Marshall, 34, was struck by shrapnel in the face. Unconfirmed reports from Facebook suggested that he may have been a security officer working inside the lounge.

Central District Police reported that they were looking for an unknown single shooter, who was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. The shots also caused damage to the front door of the bar, according to police reports.

Two people interviewed briefly outside the tavern at mid-morning Saturday gave vastly different versions of the scene at the bar.

Jozmin Cooper, 27, called the lounge “a nice place,” with Karaoke and other attractions.

“People don’t come here for trouble,” he said. “I don’t know what happened last night.”

But the neighbor who was questioned briefly had a totally different take.

“They fight every weekend,” this neighbor said. “It’s crazy. Outside it’s really rowdy. They party more outside than inside. They walk around with bottles of liquor, and they break bottles out here.”

Anyone with information is asked to call or text the Buffalo police confidential tip line at (716) 847-2255 or e-mail the department at www.bpdny.org.

WTF!: Life Sentence For Puerto Rico Man Involved In Bar Shooting

Image

SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO –  A man convicted for his role in a 2009 Puerto Rico bar shooting that left eight people and an 8-month-old fetus dead has been sentenced to life in federal prison.

David Oquendo-Rivas had been found guilty of charges including 28 counts of committing violent crimes in aid of racketeering activity.

Authorities said Oquendo-Rivas was one of several suspected drug dealers who opened fire on a bar in the north town of Toa Baja that was celebrating its reopening. Nineteen people were injured and 335 spent shell-casings were found at the scene.

When they arrived at the bar, the group immediately opened fire indiscriminately on all the patrons located outside, many of whom were women, children, and elderly people. The men were heard yelling, “Nadie sale vivo” (“No one gets out alive”) as they opened fire on the people inside.

Oquendo-Rivas and another individual were found a few days following the massacre with three pistols, one of which was scientifically matched to the bar attack.

Oquendo-Rivas was sentenced on Thursday. Co-defendant Alexis Candelario Santana was sentenced to life in prison in August.

Authorities said the owner of the bar was targeted because he had taken over Candelario’s drug trafficking organization.
