BROCKTON —

Authorities are investigating a shooting at a  downtown bar early Saturday  morning that sent a 45-year-old  man to a Boston hospital with  minor injuries, police said.

The shooting occurred at Joe Angelo’s Cafe, 11 Crescent  St., shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday, said Brockton police Lt.  William Hallisey.

The victim, who was not identified, was struck by a ricochet bullet in the stomach as he was standing near a glass door inside the bar, Hallisey said.

Police believe several shots were fired from outside the bar when the man was struck as he was standing near the door inside the establishment, Hallisey said.

The victim was flown by  MedFlight helicopter to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, and treated and released from the hospital later Saturday, Hallisey said.

No arrests had been made by noon on Sunday.

More than a dozen police officers responded to 18 Maple  Ave., which is off Crescent  Street, after police were alerted to the shooting by ShotSpotter,  the city’s gun shot detection system, at 1:50 a.m. Saturday,  police said.

Police also received a call  from inside the bar after the victim was struck, Hallisey said.
